Today...I am inspired to create a Blog. It is all because of an email from a High School Friend- aka: Debbie :) She has been blogging for some time now- and I am always so blessed when I take the time to read her life and heart lovingly put to words. I trust that you will be tolerate while I make an effort to keep everyone informed as to what is going on in our life. Many have said they can't keep track of our schedules...and to that we say...you are in good company because we can't either. Many have said...I don't know how you do all the things that you do...and to that we say...It is not any power of our own...It is All God. We are but vessels in this fast paced, action packed world...and He is the Reason we are able to do what we do.
I will share with you that today has been a little difficult emotionally- Just a week ago I received an email from a friend and Pastor of a local church. It was a prayer request for a family member-that was enjoying some down time from the Navy with a fellow recruit. In short, they were at a family gathering- swimming...and teaching younger children dive techniques when something went terribly wrong. Caleb Williams suffered a spinal cord injury. A C6 spinal cord injury to be specific. I took the time this morning to read the Journals posted by his family- and I can so related to the ups and downs, joys and fears, laughter and tears this family is living. You see, it was just a few short years ago that my baby sister (wife, and mother of 3) became a C6/7 Quadriplegic after a motor vehicle accident. It will never be the same for any of us. Although, life is beginning to steady itself- and we are beginning find some sort of "normal"- and recover a bit financially- I look back and can see God in every detail of that storm. I suppose that is why it is so hard to watch love ones walk through life- not knowing Him. I have known about God all of my life- but haven't KNOWN him the way I now do. Thank you Lord for remaining Steadfast and True-even when we don't deserve it.
Moving on...Tomorrow is a special day for us. As Christians who serve- you don't always get to see "the fruits of your labor". After many years of serving in the Prison Ministry-coordinating, praying, and serving- we have mentored a few that have turned their lives around. Tomorrow is special because one of those young men has surrendered his life to Christ and is serving as a Youth Pastor at a Church in Charlotte. He is reclaiming our Youth and using his testimony to reach them. Please, pray for us as we visit with him at his Home Church to encourage him on this Journey.
I will post again-as time becomes available-
Until then...
May we all Walk Worthy!
